WOODFORD CLAY GOES TO CALIFORNIA. Woodford Clay, the Kentucky turfman, passed through Chicago yesterday en route to California. "It Is merely a- pleasure trip," said he. "I am going to San Francisco to see a bit of the racing at Oakland aud will then stop at Los Angeles and take the southern route back to Kentucky, spending a day or two at New Orleans and Hot Springs. I will get back home the latter part of March. My horses are all iu good shape. They have wintered well."
