The latter ran in closest pursuit of the winner to the stretch and tired in the final drive. Peter Paul ran poorly. Fargo was cut off at the start and showed a flash of epeed on the backstretch. Louis Kraft got away poorly and was far back for the first mile, but came very fast around the far turn in the last mile, wore down Paul in the stretch and won going away. Paul ran a good race, but went wide when entering the homestretch, losing much ground. Cashier ran a good, game race, but tired at the end. Colonist was poorly handled and ridden all over the track, but finished well. Nones had no mishaps. Hickory Corners rail a good mile and a Quarter, but failed to stay. Flavigny was a prominent contender throughout and finished fast and 1 resolutely. Bitter Brown soon got into third place and stayed there without much opposition.
