TWENTY-ONE DAYS RACING AT MEMPHIS. April 16 to May 9 Are Dates Chosen by Directors Oaklawn Meeting to bo Extended. Memphis, Tenn.. February 21. After a meeting of the directors of the New Memphis Jockey Club today it was announced by Secretary Macfarlan that April 10 to May 0, inclusive, had been decided upon as dates for the spring meeting at Montgomery Park. "These dates are. of course, subject to tiie approval of the stewards of the Western Jockey Club." said Secretary Macfarlan. The stewards will meet in Chicago on Monday, March -5. and it is considered a certainty that they will approve these dates. This will give the local club twenty-one days of racing. Since it lias been already announced that the Western Jockey Club would provide racing at Hot Springs until .Memphis opens, this action on the part of the directors of the local club may be taken to mean that John Condon has decided to prolong the meeting at Oaklawn until Saturday. April 14. In allotting dates for Oaklawn the stewards of the Western Jockey Club provided for "thirty-one days or more." The thirty-one days will expire March .!!, so if the meeting is to be continued until April 14 it means an extension of eighteen days or forty-nine days in all.
