Aaron J. beat the barrier and assumed a good lead in the first quarter and was then joined thereafter bv Platoon and raced the latter Into subjection, but bad to be hard ridden at the end to stall off Broomhandle. The latter was kept out of contention too long and finished with a belated rush. Mayor Johnson finished fast and came from a long way back In the last quarter. Platoon ran a good race for his first time out this year and tired in the last furlong as if short. II. L.
