ASCOT PARK WILL OPEN THANKSGIVING DAY. Los Angeles, Cal., July 13. General Manager James W. Brooks makes the official announcement that the meeting of the Los Angeles Jockey Club for the season of l!tO0-07 will open at Ascot Park on Thanksgiving Day. November 20, and will continue ninety days. There has been no official announcement as to the selection of officials, but it seems to be the understanding Unit Colonel A. W. Hamilton is to return as presiding judge. The announcement of stakes to be decided and the time for the closing of entries will be made shortly. The differences between owners and officials which marred the last meeting served as a severe lesson and that there will be nothing of the sort the coining season is more than a safe prediction. The prospects for a successful season are uncommonly bright.
