CASSIDY WILL START AT CITY PARK. Mars Cassidy has been engaged to do the starting at City Park the coming winter. There was an inclination at one time to employ one set of officials, other than the secretary, at the two tracks, but this was finally dropped. The Crescent City people had no objections to Cassidy as a starter; in fact, some of them favored him strongly, but the City Park managers wanted him exclusively and agreed to pay him for all the period from December 10 to April 13, work or play. The Los Angeles Jockey Club was also flirting with Cassidy, hut he preferred to remain nearer home. The other officials at City Park have not yet been named, but it pretty well assured that J. A. Murphy Will bo in the stewards stand. Mr. Murphy is now at his home In St. Louis. He has no engagements until the meeting at Dallas, Texas, In October.
