SISTER FRANCES WINS FROM ALMA DUFOUR. Cincinnati, O., July 27. Sister Frances again demonstrated that she Is a superior filly by the easy manner in which she defeated Alma Dufour In fast time over the seven furlongs route. She was at all times the choice and had strong backing. The mishap to Weird in the steeplechase probably deprived J. C. Ferriss, Jr., of a purse and a good sized winuing bet. The horse was well backed and was running In a contending position when he went down at the seventh jump. After his elimination Arc Light had little difficulty in scoring from Ohio King, Profitable finishing a distant third by virtue of a mishap to War Chief at the last jump in the field wsere he cut himself so badly as to make him almost quit to a walk. W. H. Fizer pulled off a well planned coup in the opening race with Morales. He won witli ease and is probably a better colt than heretofore considered. Albert Fir was bid up to 00, an advance of 00 over his entered price, and bought by G. II. Marl-man. King Leopold was taken sick soon after his race yesterday. Grace Wagner will e turned out and rested until fall. Edward Corrlgan and W. E. Applegatc attended the funeral of C. F. McMeekln at Lexington today.
