ALL FAVORITES ARE BEATEN AT FORT ERIE. Buffalo, N. Y., August 9. Encouraged by the success of the favorites at Fort Erie yesterday, a good crowd crossed the border today only to see the six first choices beaten. The feature race was the steeplechase. Dr. Nowlln won it easily with the favorite Lulu Young second and Cardigan third. The others were beaten off from fifty to one hundred lengths. Jockey Hogg was compelled to cancel his engagements today on account of illness. Jockey A. Martin is also on the sick list. Jockey Feicht who was so seriously Injured a few weeks ago has recovered sufficiently to be able to move around. His physicians say it will be six months or more before lie will be able to ride, again. Mrs. Henry Simons lias sold Attraction to Mrs. J. F. McCarthy for 00. The filly raced In her new owners name and colors today.
