Sir Lynnewood broke on the inside and maintained an advantageous position within striking distance of the pacemakers to the stretch, where he closed up with reserve speed, caught them tiring and won out going away. Inquisitor, from a flying start, made the most of his advantage, making the running to the tar turn, where he was headed by Neva Lee, which shut him off, but he got up right at the end in a remarkably game finish. Neva Lee, getting, away poorly, snddenly rushed np and challenged he pacemaker In the first half, assuming command and was leading in the last quarter and appearing all over the winner, but tired right at the end. Fustian, with a good start and luckily placed, ran forwardly and gamely throughout. Grazlallo showed superior speed for six furlongs, but ran far short of his best form. Belle of Pequest, practically left, closed an immense gap and ran a grand race. California King was shullled out of It at the start. Merry England, away badly, was worn out In getting into a forward position in the first half and tired in consequence. Onteoivi, skillfully handled, showed surprisingly Improved form and got up for a lucky second place in the last couple of strides. Champs Elysees raced into a long lead In the first mile and made the running under a pull, decisively outjumped and outpaced his opponents, but tired suddenly and unexpectedly right at the end under a bad ride. C. B. Campbell, which nearly fell over the first jump, closed a big gap and put up a surprisingly good effort. Bonfire ran In forward contention for a mile and a half and tired as if short. Ike showed superior speed for over a mile and then retired. Glengate nearly fell and knocked the course post down on the first turn of the last time around, injuring her rider and was pulled up. Kilter, nearly left, closed an immense gap and was going like a sjot at the end. Narelle steadily improved her position and also Is Improving. Dario showed early spped biit retired on thu last turn. Standard Oil made up a lot of ground after being nearlv left. Knight of ivait-hoe, a sow beginner, was repeatedly knocked to the rear and never had clear sailing.
