Tangle, very lit and luckily and forwardly placed for seven furlongs, was finally compelled to come on the outside- on the stretch turn and seemingly was beaten when beginning the last sixteenth, but got up with a rush under belated use of the whip and was much the best. Gallavant, after being skillfully placed in close pursuit of the pacemaker, was suddenly sent along Into the lead when straightened, for home and appeared the winner, but unexpectedly tired right at the end. Whimsical made the running under a pull for a mile and then tired from lack of conditioning and will reverse this running. Go Between, on account of the slow early pace, ran prominently from the start and was unequal to last the three furlongs sprint, but ran palpably short. Mohawk II. ran forwardly for seven furlongs and then dropped to the rear, ran a bad race and looked drawn and overdue. d A O T O FIFTH RACE 1 Mile. 1:3723112. 1906.sh00 added. 3-year-olds and upward. 7 O I Selling. Ben Ban, from a good outside start, was at once rushed up to the pacemaker, passed him on the far turn and gamely maintained Ills advantage to the end. Sir Russell was outpaced for the first half, but linisned with a sensational stretch sprint and should have won. Nealon got away slowly, but took a good position early, closed up very fast in the stretch and appeared to have caught Sir Russell for second jlace, is very good and can beat this kind easily. Slickaway finished close up and going well. Comedienne, badly messed about and crowded repeatedly in the early running, finally retired under a bad ride.
