GOLDMATE DEFEATS ALMA DUFOUR. Detroit, Mich., September S. The chief attraction at Windsor today was the steeplechase. The spectacular performance kept the crowd in a high state of excitement. Manzann. the favorite, was the only Mie to come to grief. At the fifth jump he made a bad landing and unseated his rider The horse, running riderless, got to the inside of Utile AVally, causing him to run out of the course. Sam Parmer wou pulling up. The handicap at a mile and a sixteenth was the biggest surprise of the day. Alma Dufour was thought to have, the race at her mercy. Goldmates recent good races were evidently overlooked. Jockey J. Daly arrived here toUny and will ride the Corrlgan horses. The horses of J. H. Baker and B. F. Guthrie were shipped to Louisville. Starter Jake Holtman was a visitor at the track today. He will remain several days.
