GOLDMATE DEFEATS ALMA DUFOUR. Detroit, Mich., September S. The chief attraction at Windsor today was the steeplechase. The spectacular performance kept the crowd in a high state of excitement. The handicap at a mile and a sixteenth was the biggest surprise of the day. Alma Dufour was thought to have, the race at her mercy. Goldmates recent good races were evidently overlooked. Jockey J. Daly arrived here toUny and will ride the Corrlgan horses. The horses of J. H. Baker and B. F. Guthrie were shipped to Louisville. Starter Jake Holtman was a visitor at the track today.
