Elllcott, from a lucky start, ran in forward contention to the stretch, where he drew out and won like a icood one. Theyre Off forced the early pace and, being badly messed about in the stretch, succumbed readily to the winner and can do much better. El Dorado, lucky at the start and with clear saUlng, develops superior speed, stayed well and is very promising: Remay, also favored at the start and In forward contention all the way, finished well. Molesey steadily improved his position and is promising. Merrill finished close up and is worth watching. Master Lester ran prominently for five furlongs and then tired and is about due. Oraculum was pulling up at the start. Flowaway was shuffled out of position on the turn and had no chance afterwards. Scratched 64110 Pungent, 90. Corrected weights Molesey, 9C. Start good. Won driving; second and third the same. John M. P. made the running by a wide gap for two miles, then commenced to tire and, dwelling over the jumps, actually allowed Agent to range alongside on the flat, but drew out quickly and won going away. Agent, badly handled, again failed to get up in a lKlaied closing move and is a crack horse. Alfar ran a brilliant race, maintained nearest pursuit of the winner all the way and momentarily appeared like passing him when beginning the hist furlong, but tired right at the end. Hylas ran forwardly and gamely under a poor ride and is very good. Grandpa tired badly after going two miles and was really never dangerous. Paul Jones lacked his usual dash and was never dangerous and was beaten when he fell. Scratched C4480 Delcanta, 145. Hylas, singly, show, 6 to 5. Paul Jones, singly, show, 4 to 5. De Mund jumped into the lead at the start and won all the way never fully extended. Ballot maintained fairly close pursuit of the leaders from the start and finished with a determined stretch run In a brilliant effort. Dinna Ken was in nearest attendance on the winner for six furlongs and then retired, running a good race. Oran showed early superior speed and figured prominently for five furlongs, but failed to stay. Electioneer ran a bad race, lost ground in the first three fnrlongs and moved up rapidly on the far turn, but failed to make good in the stretch. Arcite simply failed to stay and had no mishaps. Fountainblue ran forwardly and was going well for three furlongs, then commenced to drop to the rear and was hopelessly out of it. Rio Grande trailed far in the rear throughout. Bedouin is in grand form, was rated behind the pacemakers slow running for a mile before he was sent along and then slowly, but surely, overhauled and headed him in the last couple of strides. Fine Cloth made the running by a wide gap, pulling Miller out of the saddle for a mile" and, when called.on, came away momentarily, but succumbed right at the end. The Picket ran close up for seven furlongs while the pace was slow, but commenced to drop back with the accelerated running. Watergrass was in forward contention from the start, ranged alongside the leaders on the last turn and, fter a hard stretch struggle, drew out with a rush right at the end. Deutschland forced the pace with Handzarra, but lost ground at a critical moment in the stretch and then came on again and gamely earned second place. Slickaway, in close quarters, held a good position, but was pocketed on the last turn and came with a belated end rush. Rapid Water, away poorly, closed a big gap and was going like a shot at the end. Handzarra failed to stay after showing dazzling speed for five furlongs. Pater will improve, held his own well, but was minus his old-time early speed and will do to watch. Robin Hood, away oadly, made up a lot of ground. Macy Jr. enjoyed clear sailing and steadily improved his position in the last six furlongs, closing up with a rush at the end and got up to win in the last stride. John Lyle, lucky at the start, was skillfully and forwardly placed and patiently reserved in behind the leaders to the stretch, where he moved up and appeared the winner, but was himself headed in the last stride. Leonard Joe Hayman. from a flying start, stole a long lead on the first turn and set a swift pace and was probably unlucky to lose. Tartan, away poorly, closed a big gap and was coming like a cyclone at the end. Ed Ball had an extreme outside position, expended much speed In getting up to the leader and,-forcing a terrific pace and failing to stay,, dropped back in the closing furlong. Disobedient, badly messed about and repeatedly shuffled back ia the early "running, closed up in the last half. Onatas tired after going a prominent half. Memories had no chance at the start.
