JOCKEY B. MILLER DIES OF HIS INJURIES. Charles Verplank, Former Jockey, Also Expires at Louisville Reported Dead Two Yoars Ago. Louisville, Ky., October 5. Jockey B.Miller, whose skull was fractured when Dresden fell with him at Churchill Downs yesterday, died in the City Hospital last night. Miller had been riding for several seasons. His home was at St. George. Staten Island, where his remains were shipped tonight. The American Turf Association will defray all expenses. Charles Verplank Monkey Charlie, a well known figure on racetracks, and one time rider, died last night in the City Hospital. Horsemen will defray his burial expenses. In the early part of 1905 it was reported that. Verplank had died while at Hot Springs. Judge Murphy, who was then presiding at Essex Park, telegraphed Secretary Woodruff of the Western Jockey Club, for permission to bury him at the expense of the Western Jockey Club. The permission was readily granted, but ,Verplauk showed up iu a lively state the next day.
