Garrett Wilson, away running and showiug the most speed, led "throughout and won unextended. The Clansman forced the pace in the early stages and, standing a hard-drive gamely through .the stretch, got up in the finnl stride for second place. Meadowbreeze ran well to the stretcli and tired near the end, but held on resolutely. Lady Esther began slowly and, closing a big gap in the last furlong, would have leen second in a few more strides. Dr. Leggo was seemingly "qualifying" only, was outrun throughout and can do much better when fit. Don Caesar quit badly after going a good half. Incorrect weight in entries Mendowbveeze, 10S. Lidwina closed a big gap steadily from a slow beginning and finished going gamely. Queen Caroline was a forward contender for the first half and then tired. Stoner Hill went well and will improve. Beautiful Mayo set a fast pace for the first half and tired when challenged by the winner. John Kaufman began slowly, but saved much ground when coming into the stretch and finished witli a rush. Spider Web showed improved form and but for going wide into the stretch would have been third. Grandlta was taken wide throughout and can do better. Don Fonso showed the most early speed, but tired after going a half. Black Mantilla came fast near the end. Toboggan found the track a trifle too hard and can do much better. Matador ran poorly. Bert Osra, away slowly and given a bad ride, will show improvement. Delia Thorpe, badly ridden, was taken back sharply soon after the start and then sent Into contention in a flash, causing, her to tire badly near the end. Lady Emily closed up ground.
