TWENTY LEADING JOCKEYS. In 1004 Eugene Hildebrand rode 207 winners out of 1,169 mounts. That Walter Miller will surpass tills achievement this year is as now as certain as anything can be in horse racing. To and including Saturday last he , had ridden this year 293 winners out of 1,117 mounts. That he will go comfortably beyond the 300 mark in the winning column is not to be doubted. If at Jamaica this week he can duplicate his success of the last week at Belmont Park he will have set a record unapproactied by any other jockey in America, insofar as is to be ascertained from the annals of the turf. If any jockey has ridden more than. 300 winners in any one year it is not of record. That Xicol also will go beyond the 300 mark is to be expected. If he maintains his present form, he will have accomplished this by the end of the Latonia meeting. Whether or not Xicol stands ahead of Miller in the matter of winning mounts at the end of the season, there is no argument as to which of the two Is the superior rider. NIcols winning percentage is the better by seven points. Here Is the standing to and Including October 20: Jockeys. Mts. 1st. 2d. 3d. Unp. P.C.L.W. W.
