FERRIS A PROMISING BOY. Cincinnati, O., October 30. Jimmy Ferris, the fourteen-year-old lad who rode Darthnla to victory at Latonia yesterday, has been in the employ of J. B. Respess for three years. His parents reside on the farm which adjoins the Respess establishment at Woodlawn, Ohio. For two years the boy did nothing but exercise horses at the Respess farm. Last spring Respess brought him to Latonia and lie has since been galloping the horses every morning. His mount on Darthula was his first in a race and he rode her in a manner which indicates that he has learned his lessons well.
