BELCAST A STAKE WINNER. DEFEATS LORING AND MOMENTUM IN THE BELLEROSE STAKES AT AQUEDUCT. Xotus Buns a Fast Mile Miniota Probably a Good Two-Year-old Fortunate Again a Winner Supreme Destroyed. New York, November 8. Aqueduct continues to enjoy plenty of sunshine and the pleasantcst of . weather prevailed. This seasons fall meeting of raving in that respect is unprecedented and the patronage is immense. Todays card of six races was up to the standard of fag-end of the season meetings. The usual solitary stake fixture was ou tap, the Bellerose, a selling afTair for two-year-olds, at six furlongs. It was won by the inconsistent Belcast. Despite early interference of a serious character, the Belvidere colt came on and. won a poor race In easy fashion from the game Loring and the many time winner Momentum.- There was very little stable support for the favorite, due to the abnormally short price laid against him in the ring. Mrs. Lillian A. Barnes, who Inherited the celebrated Lorlllard thoroughbred stud at the death of its owner a few years ago, scored a victory for the first time in her own colors In the opening race today with Miniota, a grand looking chestnut two-year-old, by Locohatchee Monita Hardy. The Ran-cocas youngster was heavily backed to beat Oracu-luni, the odds-on favorite, ridden by Miller, and judeAKOod!swi:tU-N6tter?euiv:iaJeclsivo BtylerEx? perts pronounced him a good three-year-old prospect. None of the hot tips materialized in the steeple- chase. Sandalwood, on the strength of his last good race, was heavily backed by the talent and amply justified the confidence reposed in him by winning as his rider pleased. Lotus, at prohibitive odds, had no serious opposition in the mile selling race, far outclassed her opponents and won all the way under a pull. The defeat of Zionap, the odds-on favorite in the fifth by Fortunate, gave rise to a lot of unpleasant comment. The Schulte filly was outrun by Listless for a half mile and close observers declared that her condition was not as it should be. The Cavanagh special will leave for Washington after the seasons final afternoon of racing next Thursday. Manager Cavanagh announced the train would leave Jersey City with the Bennings contingent at 7 p. m. Joseph Kernon, of the field bookmakers, committed suicide at his lodgings 431 Berry street, Williamsburg, Brooklyn borough, Thursday night. It is stated on good authority that Phil Dwyer, one of the stewards that suspended Radtke at the recent Jamaica meeting for a bad looking ride on Tommy Waddell, lias assured R. A. Rainey that there is nothing of a criminal nature against the rider and that his suspension may be terminated at any moment. The horse Supreme, which was cut down in the fifth race yesterday, has been destroyed. Jockey Jack Martin and Miss May Mittnocht, were married at Sheepshead Bay last night. The bridegroom was in receipt of many valuable presents from prominent horsemen.
