Poqitessing quickly established a good lead, but relinquished It and was restrained to the-stretch, where he came along fast and won going away. Klaniesha II. showed decided improvement and, taking the lead on the backstretch, appeared the winner to the stretch and easily held second place safe. Josle Hampton did her best and was under a drive from the head of the stretch home, but could not get up. Waterway ran fairly well. The others were always outrun. Ovcrwelghfj Poquesslng, lj pounds. Orphan Lad Is In the best of form and had plenty of racing luck, got through next to the rail on the far turn and. quickly gaining a winning advantage, won under restraint. Tudor showed the most early speed and tired after going a half mile. Botanist was cut off at the start, went up fast in the run down the backstretch and the effort told on him, but he ran far below his true form. Lord Boanerges is speedy, but a quitter. Jack Adams ran In a good position to the last furlong, when he came with a rush and, catching Orton Dobbie tiring got up in the last few strides. Orton Dobbie is a small mare and she did her best, showed the most early speed, but the route was too far for her. Blue Coat was used up in. the early racing and was all out at the end to stall off Calmness. The latter finished gaining under the whip. Dixie Andrews ran a fairly good race and might have been closer up but for interference on the home turn. Mafalda and Felix Mozzes ran far below their true form.. Bery Waddell was carefully handled and in a good position all the way and, in the final run on the flat, outfooted Allegiance, but was all out at the end. Allegiance fenced well and fought it out -gamely all through the last half. Follow On ran a good race and would have been a sharper contender, but the saddle slipped under Mr. Kerr and his race was a good one under the circumstances. Seventh Ward showed improvement in his jumping. Northville and Oh Promise Me both fell, but were remounted and fell the second time. Ci PC A O O FIFTH RACE 1 3-16 Miles. Reidmoore, in well at the weights, raced in behind Winifred A. for nearly six furlongs, then went to the front and at the end had something in hand. Pleasant Days ran a good race, showed early speed and In the stretch appeared dangerous, but tired under pressure. Winifred A. tired from making the pace, but held on well. Tavannes was close up at the end and coming fast when the race was practically over. Sonoma Belle, Holloway and Factotum ran poor races. Scratched 652702Satirist, 108. Datsy Frost is a fast breaker and obtained a winning lead in the first furlong, easily held her advantage and was well in hand to the end. Millstone got away well today and showed plenty of speed, but tired in the last furlong, when punished. Monkey Puzzle showed improvement, began slowly, but made up. a lot of ground and finished fast. Wayside was in a good position and ran a fairly good race. Norwlna showed speed. Waterfall was well up at the head of the stretch, but failed to stay. Brittanby got off poorly and showed scant speed. El Tovar ran poorly.
