Every stall at Bennings is taken and superintendent Strahan lias engaged, all available stable room in a radius of two miles to accommodate the overflow. District Attorney Jerome has announced that ho will prepare and have Introduced in the New York legislature a bill for :the- repeal of the Percy-Gray law which protects racing in that state. The specials to Be . run at Oakland next week are the Flrenze Handicap, 00, Tuesday; the Gloaming Handicap, SljOOO, Wednesday; the Tradition Handicap, 00, Thursday, and. the- Artful Handicap,. 000, Saturday. John "odoiti has sold Out; of Reach to F. A. For-sythe, who will use him in the stud. Out of Reach is six years old and is a well-bred young horse, being by the Epsom Derby winner, Persimmon Sandfly and should do well In Kentucky. Among arrivals, of horses in New Orleans last Wednesday were: Ed.. Richardsons six from Gallatin; Tenn., where they have heen on the farm. R. . Watking shipped eighteen from Texas. These horses have been resting up since the summer campaign, at- New York. John Huffman sent eleven from fits farm In Greenville, 111., and W. K. Henderson three from Latonla.
