NO VOICE FOR TAX COLLECTOR. New York. March 1.1. — Horsemen have given Senator sfeCsUs pro|»osed amendment to the present racing law much consideration and the idea of having tile stewards for the several meetings appolnWd by the State Racing Commission appears to have the approval of the majority. The senators notion about giving tlie State Collector of Racing Tax eo ordinate power with the Racing Commission in sack appointment, however, is not approved. Such a thing is considered preposterous. It is likely that Senator IfcCall will himself snggesl the striking out of that portion of his bill.
