Dalys foiir-yoar old Kara, a horse that has been running in steeplechases] here this winter, w i- -tailed on the Hat in the thirl race at City Park this afternoon and made a show of his company. Lee. who rated him along iu behind Ihe leaders for a half mile, then moved up on the out-ide on tho far turn and. taking the lead, drew off in the stretch and won by seven lengths. Kara is tho -peedicst horse racing through the field iu tin; nest. His people have decided to ship him from hen to Baltimoro, where he has several stake engagements. In the fifth race Edward It. Bradleys two-year-old Bucket Brigade, won after appearing hopelessly out of it on tfie turn out of Ihe baekstretch. Here Bucket Brigade was last of the field, having been crowded against the inside fence, and his rider, iattgel. pulling up to keep from going over. Gaugel took the youngster to the outside, closed a lot of ground in the run to the stretch turn, and iu the final drive finished fast and won going away from Dick Bone. The Daly colors were seen in front for the second time during Ihe afternoon when Irince Brutus wort the seventh race. He came from behind, finished with a rush and won by a neck after a keen finish. Savoir iaire. winner of the sixth race, was bid up KUt hf C. N. Freeman, owner of John McBride, which tno-iied second. The hone w is protected] and bought in by his owner. Jockey Minder, who had the mount on Orlandot, in the second race, was struck in the eye with a clod and was unable to ride out hi- engagements. Davis was substituted on Omar Khayyam and Walker on John Carner. .1. B. Kespess now lias Ihe contract on jockey Lee.
