KERCHEVAL OUT OF THE BRIGHTON. New York. May IS. — The stewards of the Jockey Club have decided that Kercheval is not eligible to the Brighton Handicap. The matter is one of incorrect registration of ownership and the action iu denying the entry was taken under rule 55. Kercheval has been racing in the name of W. V. Conran. though it has been generally understood in the west that R. C. Brien of Nashville is the owner. Stanley Kunz. of Chicago, claims a pro prietary interest in the horse and has instituted suit against Brien to that end. It may be that this had some bearing on the action of the stewards.
