At the BUM meeting Realm won the Sydney cup at two miles, heatinsr a field of ten. The St. Leger was won in easy style by Poisedon. He is regarded as the best colt in Australia and was a prohibitive favorite in the lie! ling. He was beaten later in the week hy Dividend in a Weight for age race. Istria. winner of the Oomaster. was started back in the all aged stakes a few days later, but the race was won by Lady Wallace in the very fast time of 1:38. for the mile.
