MANY UPSETS AT LATONIA. TRACKS IMPROVEMENT HELD RESPOND SIBLE FOR FORM REVERSALS. Dr. Lee Huffman Enriches His Connections โ Judges Deny Claim of Foul Against Sultry โ Rebel Queen Is Injured. Cincinnati. O.. June 14. โ Surprises were numerous at Latonia this afternoon. Six favorites were defeated and the lxiokinakers reaped a harvest. Track conditions were much improved, but the oval was still in bad condition. Several horses stumbled and blundered in various races. Sand Catcher in the third, stepped into a hole soon after the start, arhieh caused him to fall. The improved going was bold responsible for the reversals of form. The rletorlea id Ben Sand. Cygnet. Dr. Lee Huffman and DeleStroiue were unlooked for and caused sharp criticism. The connections of Dr. Lee Huffman backed him strongly and his victory was clearly anticipated by them. The others were neglected. Jockey Skirvin claimed foul against J. Lee, who rode Sultry in the last race. The judges, however, thought Helgesen on Henry O. was mostly to Idame for the interference that took place aud let the result stand. Charles F. Price, who has been presiding judge here since the opening, left tonight for Detroit. He will be the judge at Windsor. Secretary John Dillon will be the presiding official here until the arrivel of E. C. Hopper. William Shelly will act as associate judge. W. J. Douohues Rebel Queen, while being worked this morning for the Clipsetta Stakes, stepped into a hole and wrenched her stifle.
