WEBB RULED OFF FOR DOPING BRIERS. Foreman of Buxtons Stable Said He Wanted to Win "Getaway Money." Oakland. Cal.. June 14. — On being confronted today with the report of the examining veterinary surgeon, foreman "Slim" Webb of the Fleur de Lis Stable, admitted that he had "doped" Briers l efor,j sending her to the peat in the third race yesterday. Webb explained that he was anxious to win "gel-away" money on the lnare and had administered the drug on his own responsibility, thinking to improve her s| d. The stewards ruled him off forthwith. Trainer C. Buxton, who was absent and claimed to have no knowledge of the "doping," was exonerated.
