Banyah, ridden witli excellent judgment, was saved from the early pace and waited with until straightened out in the homestretch, then came on fast and won going away. Hands Around, interfered with and crowded back at the start, worked her way up next to the inside rail and, saving ground when entering the iiomestretch, where the others went wide, just managed to get up in time to bent out Lexington Lady. The latter was much used in racing with Guarda and tired. Inauguration and Takbu finished fast. Canobio Lake broke slowly and was given an easy ride. Guarda ran a fast half and retired. Simon 1. closed up from the rear in the last quarter and easily disposed of the others. Lady Gay Spanker ran well, but quit under punishment in the stretch. Peter Knight showed a flash of speed on the turn into the backstretch, where he squeezed through on the inside, but could not keep up and was cut off and then dropped out. Watch him when next out. Martin Doyle, a horse of undoubted high class, showed a splendid performance, was in a pocket on the backstretch and while rounding the far turn, where he was repeatedly interfered with and cut off, but finally found an opening at the furlong post and he came on with a rush and was going away at the eiuj. Solon Shingle, outrun in the early stages, finished gamely under punishment and outgamed Elllcott at tlfe end. The latter was made much use of in setting a very fast pace and tired.
