Dreamer ran lapped on Uoseben to the far turn, where he was taken back slightly, then challenged in the stretch and drew out as if the favorite was anchored. Uoseben set the pace fast to the stretch, where he quit badly. Comedienne dropped back in the early running, seemingly outpaced, but came on leisurely and earned an easy third. Commodore Anson showed superior early speed, but failed to stay. Conville is not ready, but showed sieed for half the journey. Garrett made numerous cosily blunders at the obstacles and finally fell when a half mile from home, is a brilliant fencer and would probably have won had lie stood up. Meggs Hill established a small lead at the start and won all the way, drawing out very gamely at the end. Half Sovereign was always in nearest pursuit of the winner and finished a game second. Fancy came fast from the rear when straightened away for home and loomed up menacingly in the final sixteenth, but tired finally. Woodbine, crowded back on the bend, closed up like a cyclone in the last quarter and was wearing Fancy down for third place. Miss Norfolk, away badly, closed a big gap, was going like a shot at the end and is very promising. Beckon finished well up. Lady Winifred swerved all over the course from the start and was boring out in the stretch. Aimee C, llatfooted at the start and shutlled back early, had a rough journev. Won driving: second the same; third easily Montgomery broke well and ran in a forward position for the lirst mile, finished with reserve speed while facing the heavy wind and, catching Frank Gill tiring, got up in the last stride of a terrific closing drive to :core a lucky win. Frank Gill, after being reserved hard held on the inside within striking distance of the Hying leader, moved up prematurely into a long lead and, after appearing all over the winner in the stretch, tired suddenly. Dandelion, skillfully and forwardly placed throughout, was a game and fast going third. First Premium was prominent throughout the running and ran a remarkably good race. Fli;i Flap, .away badly, trailed hopelessly in the rear for the first half, then moved up like a Hash in the middle half and finished like a cyclone, but could not get up. Philander, a sloxv beginner and outpaced all the way, was badly interfered with and had no chance at any stage. Cottontown was never dangerous, but finished going well. Coy Maid developed brilliant speed for a mile, then quit badly after an exhaustive effort. Blandy lost ground steadily. Ironsides, timidly handled and pulled up frequently, had no chance after going the first quarter. Dr. Gardner tired after a terrific uiue furlongs of pacemakiug and was pulled up finally. Royal Ben established an early lead, stole away further 011 the first turn and maintained his advantage throughout, but fuflshed tiring and probably was lucky. RiUeuian had a lucky position from the start, but delayed his final move and failed to get up in a belated stretch rush. Andrew Mack, nearly left, closed an immense gap, was repeatedly forced to pull up and finished like a cyclone after making a wide atretch turn. Golden West was prominent for nearly a mile, but tired filially. Bright Boy developed superior speed for seven furlongs anf Imt for boring out would have been closer up. Ivnnhoe, shuffled back at the start and pocketed, finished fast. Nagazam was well up to the stretch. Workman was crowded back in the stretch and fell quickly to the rear. Heknows also quit badly after strenuous early efforts to outrun the leader. Montauk closed a big gap from a poor start. Hal got away poorly and was pocekted on the inside under a bad ride. Castlcwood was a prominent contender from tile start, but tired finally. Laughing Eyes also failed after a strenuous half-mile pursuit of the winner. Hollister was badly ridden and swerving at the end under a weak ride.- Sanguine got away poorly, was never dangerous and finished easing up. George Considine was shuffled to the rear early.
