From a source close to Hie Kentucky Stale Racing Commission comes the information that it is contemplated to do away with slates In the betting rings on Kentucky tracks next year, and substitute the New York mode of speculation. The Commission aims as much as possible to suppress the paraphernalia of betting, and also to ultimately make Kentucky racing entirely independent of betting ring revenue, as has long been done In England and as the Eastern Jockey Club is now trying to do.
