Secret had to overcome interference on the lirst turn, but moved up resolutely when well straightened out and, wearing down Plantagcnct, won with plenty in reserve. Reveille ran a good race and closed a big gap steadily. Plantagcnct broke fast and showed early speed, tired on the stretch turn, but came again under a hard drive. Roly Poly ran well, but quit in tlie last furlong. Byzantine was not persevered with and can do much better. Bounding Elk had an advantage at tlie start and, showing the most speed, dashed into a long lead, tired no tlie stretch turn but, under vigorous riding, came away in the last furlong. Petulant moved up with a rush after going a quarter, but under a bungling ride swerved in the last sixteenth. Miss Mazzoni, lngan slowly and finished witli a rush. Gilvedear acted badly at the post and tired after going a half. Tom Shaw was going well at the end. Aromatize looked high in flesh and will show improvement. Overweights Oceanic, 14 pounds. Russell A., hard ridden all the way and suffering from much interference by Daytons rough tactics, raced Croxton into subjection iu the lield and came away in tlie stretch run. Croxton fenced fairlv well and but for repeatedly interfering with Russell A. might have won. Tony Hart ran fairly well and linislied gamely. Sand was beaten off. Iolly Prim was well ridden and sent into a long lead at once, tired slightly on the stretch turn but. after a .-light shaking up, drew away and won witli plenty in reserve. Peter Sterling put up a good performance and stood tlie linal drive gamely, but was not good enough. Kings Trophy was gaining fast in the last furlong and outstayed Solon Shingle in the linal drive. Stanley Fay, showing much speed, set a fast pace for tlie lirst three furlongs, saved much ground by a close turn into the stretch and held Lady Baldur safe in the tinal drive. Lady Baldur had an advantage at the start, was a close contender throughout and but for going wide most of the way might have won. Dew of Dawn had no mishaps and only, ran fairly well. Racinette was well handled and ran fairly well. Bathmaria, away poorly, dashed into contention in the first half, hut tired iu the drive through the stretch. Tlie winner was entered for 00; no bhl. ONeill began slowly, but moved up resolutely after going a half, finished with arusU and Was gaining at the end. Edgely closed a big gap after overcoming a lot of Interference. Ben Strong, was a forward contender for the first half, but tired fast In the stretch. Ayr Water was almost thrown at the three furlongs post and was eliminated thereafter. Doc Kyle was practically left at the post. The winner was entered for 00; no bid.
