Bat Masterson, on the inside, practically set the pace from the start, drew out when straightened for home, but tired and just lasted the journey. Cabochon began slowly and was shuttled back and foreed to take to Hit extreme outside, steadily improved his position and, after a wide stretch turn, just failed to get up. Prince Ahmed broke well and was close up throughout, but went wide on the last turn, then swerved to the inside under tbe whip in the last furlong, crossing a half dozen contenders and was disqualified. Berwick, from a lucky start, was forward in the running, but was crossed and forced to pull up at tb" end by Prince AhnieiK Barbary Belle ran lapped on the winner to the last sixteenth before she tired and was also crowded, llaensel swerved badly and was rushed up into a prominent position, but was finally knocked back when Hearing the finish by Prince Ahmed and put up a cracking effort. Pre juicio got away poorly and closed a gap. Senator Clay was never dangerous. Tbistledale palpably outclassed bis opponents, particularly on the Hat. fenced faultlessly, won all tbe way by a wide gap and Is a grand horse. Garrett jumped in slovenly fashion In the early running and drew out after going the first mile into game, but unavailing, pursuit of tbe winner and was easily second best. Judge White, always well tip, finished a fast going and close third. Guardian moved up well after going the first mile and was an easing up fourth. Larone improved his position in the last mile. Carthage, from a good start, indulged the early pacemaker with the lead for six furlongs and then went to the front and won as bis rider pleased. Moonshine held a lucky forward position to the last turn, where she was pocketed and interfered with, then finished like a cyclone, but swerved under a weak ride and is a good tills. Bobbie Kean was a forward and game contender throughout. Miss Doyle, a slow beginner and away very badly, closed an Immense gap on the extreme outside into, a fast going fourth and ran a good race. Sutiice is improving, set the early pace and dropped out on the last turn. Yada ran moderately well. First Mason got away poorly and was gaining slowly in the stretch, island got away poorly in an outside position, closed a big gap to the stretch and then sulked. Fair Play broke slowly and moved up rapidly on tbe inside into a long lead and held sway to midway of the stretch, where be seemed beaten, but drew out finally under the whip and a vigorous finish. Royal Vane beat the barrier, but was reserved in close pursuit of the pacemaker and got up in the stretch, but siiccumbLd finally, under a weak finish. Home Again was always in close pursuit of tbe pacemakers, finished a game third after meeting serious interference on the turn and is a good looker. Dick Finnell was reserved leisurely in the rear in tbe early running, but closed up in the stretch, where he came through as if the others were anchored and won pulled up. Ritleman made tbe running to midway of the stretch, where he readily gave way to the winner, but gamely saved second place. Troublemaker was in nearest pursuit of tbe pacemaker to tbe stretch, where he tired slightly after a siqerior effort. Lord Lovat. under a bad ride, was pulling up frequently while going very easily and was never extended, even at the end. Ampedo, well up for six furlongs, dropped out in the stretch as if short. Fond Heart broke slowly, but quickly forged into the lead on tbe inside and, increasing her advantage as the race progressed, won off like a coming good one. Miss Dclaney closed up steadily into u fast going second and ran an extra good race. Lois Cavanagh, away very badly, closed a big gap and finished going like a shor. Red Bonnet, on the inside and hemmed in and forced, out of position repeatedly, ran green, but came like a Hash at the end. Boema suffered at the start, but steadily improved her posltiou and finished going fast under punishment in tbe last furlong. Shock, nearly left, closed a tremendous gap, but bolted on the last turn or she would have been closer up. Nauno was carried hopelessly wide by Shock ou the turn. Melzar and Styllt were forward contenders to the stretch, but both quit badjr. Overweights Boema, 1 pound; Melzar, 3; Malaga, 2; Rlccadonua, 2. ,
