From a fast striding start Hollow went into a long lead at once and led all the way unextended. Silver up ran Into prominence on the stretch turn and, finishing well, was an easing up second. Lavatrina ran well to the stretch and tired. Eleanor Fay stumbled whc,n a sixteenth from the finish and fell. Coincident was directly behind her and fell over her. Scratched 705S93Lady Sichel, 107. The latter ran a fast, game race and finished resolutely, but could not get up in a resolute finish. Royal Onyx was speedy and always prominent In the running, but tired in the final drive. Zelina showed superior early speed, but failed to stay the r-ule. Little Don showed improvement. The others were outrun all the way. Mexican Silver ran away five furlongs iKifore the start, running the first half in 4S seconds. The winner, entered for ,000, was bid up to ,000 and bought in. Escutcheon was well ridden and reserved in close attendance on the pacemakers to the stretch, where he challenged Braden resolutely and, after a sharp drive, drew clear and won going away. Braden followed snry closely to the backstretch. then ran into the lead and, showing the way to the homestretch, appeared the winner, hut tired finally after a game effort. Colonel Bob, from a good start and ably ridden, followed Manheimer closely to the final sixteenth and finally won out witli a sudden rush, which caught the leaders rider by surprise. Manheimer was speedy and best as the race was run; but lost through his riders carelessness and overconfidence. Aristotle ran well and finished fast. C. AV. Burt had no mishaps. Minos ran in improved form, but was excessively used in taking the lead and tired in the final drive. Princess Orna. almost thrown at the start, suffered from much interference, but finished fast and ran a good race. AVoolstone quit. Nellie Racine showed speed, but quit also and can do letter! Leonard Joe Hay man ran poorly and requires a vigorous rider to make him run to his true form. The winner, entered for ,000, was bid up to ,500 and bought by W. Walker.
