EMPEROR OF NORFOLK IS SICK. "Reports from Lucky Baldwins ranch this morning are to the effect that Emperor of Norfolk, the American Derby winner in 1SSS and one of the greatest race horses in his day, is in better condition than for a month," says the Los Angeles Evening News of Monday. "The radical change for the better that has occurred in the last two days gives trainer Cook hopes that he will see many more suns rise and set before he passes away. "While his usefulness is about ended, Mr. Baldwin has. a deeper regard for Emperor of Norfolk than for any other horse he ever owned,- because of the great races lie ran and his value as a leading stallion in the Santa Anita Stud. Emperor of Norfolk is by Norfolk Marian and Is twenty-two years old. His present sickness is due to his age."
