TWENTY-NINE STAR FOUR-YEAR-OLDS HAVE WON OVER ,000. Among the four-year-olds of 1907 the Suburban winner, Nealon, stands out by himself as a money earner with the handsome total of 35,250 amassed to date. He has a number of engagements yet to meet and if he remains in good form has the possibility of passing Waterburys mark of 50,775 won in 1003, the greatest sum won by any four-year-old in the last five years. Next to Nealon stands the good filly Flip Flap, but her total of 12,540 shows illy in comparison. The steeplechaser. Commodore Fontaine, presses her closely with 12,245. But three more four-year-olds have so far won 0,000 or more. They are Dr. Gardner, 11.070; W. II. Carey, 11.345, and Running Water, 11,310. That such good horses as these and other four-year-olds that have won less have not been able to win more is a reflection on tin ill-advised policy that provides so many rich events for younger horses and so few for the better seasoned ones that are capable of great things. Here are the four-year-olds that have won 5,000 or more this year to date: Horse and pedigree. Owners. Sts. 1st. 2nd. 3rd. Unp. Amt.won.
