Ardis, away fast and running to his best form, took a long lead at once and, maintaining a steady pace, drew away in the stretch run to win as his rider pleased. Orlandot began slovyly and suffered from slight interference, but finished with a rush through the strotcli and was an easy going second. Pointer ran a good race and was a forward contender fromthe start. Arlin tired in the stretch run after early prominence and will improve. Mamie Gallagher showed improved form and put up. a good performance. Edna Mottcr ran poorly and can do " better. The same applies to Sir Cyril. Moselle, running In much improved form, was a forward contender from the start and. after wearing down the leaders on the stretch turn, came away and won well in hand. Beatrice K. began slowly, but saved ground into the stretch and, under weak riding, finished gamely and was best. Caroline AY. ran a good race and was gaining at the end. Fay tired fast after going a half. Stoner Hill ran a bad race and can do much better. Bensonhurst set a stiff "pace for a half and quit badly. The Minks was well ridden, ran in a forward position to the stretch turn, where he moved up with a rush, and, gaining steadily on Hazel Patch, wore him down in the closing strides. Hazel Patch, much the best, was poorly ridden throughout, raced Beau Brummel into defeat and appeared a certain winner in the stretch, but Butler got careless and was caught napping. Convolo, under poor riding, had scant chance and can do much better. .Lightning Conductor had scant opposition for third place. Funiculaire was almost thrown at the start ami was practically left at the post, ran a fast middle quarter and seemed dangerous on the stretch turn, but tired from his early efforts. Dr. Spruill showed much speed and set the pace for the lirst three-quarters, but tired thereafter. Early Boy ran fairly well and .maintained his position gamely throughout. Great, away slowly, was a distant trailer most of the way, but closed a gap in the stretch. Prince Silvenvings tired after going three-quarters. The winner was entered for 00; no bid.
