FIVE LATONIA FAVORITES WIN. Cincinnati, O., September 2.",. Decidedly auspicious was the opening at Latonia. All the necessary concomitants, pleasant weather, a fast track and capital racing were conspicuously evident. Except In one instance there was a notable succession of winning favorites. That exception was when Loxo-llne. at undeservedly long odds, won from The Minks. Monsignor, The Clansman, Beau Brummel nml Harry Scott in a rapidly run mile. Otherwise there was nothing to mar the pleasure of those who itln their faitli to lirst choices. Colloquy, a very fast filly, and evidently at her best, had" little trouble in taking the first race from Frontenac, but Goldproot finished a sorry last. Shirley Rossmore simply ran away from her opponents In the second race, in which Pat Dunnes Mackerel put up an unexpectedly poor performance. Lady Carol repeated her recent Lexington success, mid scored easily from Miss Strome in the third. The latter ran an excellent race and is to be reckoned with hereafter. Pinkola won the fifth race in a canter, and Ouardi confirmed his recent Kood form by easily disposing of Scalplock in the final contest of the day.
