ATon easily; second and third driving Jacobite is in rare form, ran into the lead at the start and won all the way practically unextended. Ileniiug was always In nearest pursuit of the winner, but finished tiring and was lucky to save second pi.-ice. Ben Ban, away poorly on the Inside, closed up steadily and just fell short of second place in .a whirlwind rush. ATeIl had no mishaps and tired after running prominently for three furlongs. Oxford has improved and showed much speed. Chief Hayes, strictly a mud runner, finished well. Prince Hamburg put up a very poor effort. Mr. McCann made the running undisturbed, his opponents waiting overlong behind him, showed superior speed and fenced poorly, but settled down in the last mile and held the others safe. Gus Straus ran in forward pursuit of the winner throughout and might have won but for a had blunder at the twelfth obstacle. Mc-Kitiredge, ridden badly, was forced to pull up repeatedly from interferences which could have been avoided. Dr. Keith trailed for two miles and finished well. Spooner decisively outbroke, outpaced and outstayed his opposition, scoring a ridiculously easy win. Jim Gaffney, fresh and good, was In forward and game pursuit of the winner throughout. Nimbus was a prominent contender to the stretch, but tired finally. Uncle finished well after being badly messed about it all stages, was repeatedly pulled up from Interference and had no chance with his ride. Fancy, away badly, closed a big gap and is a stayer. Restigouche was well up throughout and going very fast at the end. Meelick got away poorly and had no chance with his bad rider. Ballot, In wonderful forni, made the running throughout, holding his opponents safe at all stages. Salvidere, well up from the start, started out In pursuit of the leader when beginning the last lmlf, but could never get up, despite a brilliant and game effort. Electioneer hiaifttalned nearest and most strenuous pursuit of the pacemaker for a mile, but was unable to make any impression on him, weakened after a game quarter mile struggle with Salvidere and was finally beaten off for second place. McGartcr was reserved in a forward position for a mile and a quarter before he weakened. He ran a good race. Running Water and Frank Gill were both hopelessly outpaced from the Start and were trailers throughout. Frank Gill ran a very bad race. Scratched 71041 Montgomery, 110. Good Luck, well served by the soft going, held a forward position from the start and made good decisively in the stretch. Brnid was a game contender for a mile, but tired finally. Red Friar closed up with a rush in the last half and Is extra good. Ostrich, away very badly, closed an immense gap. Lally, nearly left, made up much grouud and but for being pocketed in the stretch would have been third. Tony Ronero failed to slay and the same applies to Rockstone. Meggs Hill, from a flatfooted inside start, was crowded back sharply in the lirst quarter, but came through on the inside and was going very gamely at the end. Notasulga, palpably short, easily piced the others for the first half and tired. Queen Marguerite steadily improved her position into a fnt going lif tli.
