Free Booter, favored by the going, made up ground gradually after going a half and, wearing Toboggan down in tlie last furlong, won going away. Magic ran a good race, closed a gap and finished gamely. Toboggan raced Masterson into defeat in the first furlong, but tired in the drive through the stretch and was lucky to retain third place. Jerry C. came from a long vay back in the last quarter and finished well. Masterson showed early speed, but tired after going a half. Martius closed a big gap. Gauze ran poorly. Start bad. Won easily; second and third driving. Una had the best of the start, but displayed superior speed and won all the way by a big margin. My Love ran a good race and was in closest pursuit of the winner throughout. Sundart gained steadily and, saving much ground when turning Into the stretch, finished gamely and outstayed Hon-ta for third place. Hon-ta. away slowly, closed a big gap and would have been a prominent factor with an equal send-off. Variety tired after going a half and will improve. Male Fletcher showed improved form. Halliard, well ridden and away forwardly, set the early pace and after disposing of Nancy in the first Unee-quarters, had enough in reserve to draw away from Grace Larsen when called on. Grace Larsen, allowing improvement, was close up for the first three-auarters, but failed to get through next to the inner rail and lost ground by going around, then finished gamely, but was not good enough. Rio Grande, after trailing far back in the eariy stages, came with a good rush near the end and took third place in the closing stride. Nancy showed speed, but tired fast in the stretch. Pasadena ran a good race, but tired and was not good enough to beat the winner today. Carthage ran a bad race and can do much better. Right Royal was never prominent. Granada, away fast, showed superior speed, but tired in the last quarter. Lady Oakland, going wide most of the way, came from a long way back in the stretch and finished gamely. Docile had no mishaps. Milshora was kept far back for the first three-quarters, then closed a big gap. This one is in good condition and will probably win shortly. The winner, entered for 00, was bid up to ,300 by P. King and bought in.
