Captain Burnett ran prominently, throughout, but failed to get up in a belated rush and his race should be thrown out. Triumphant made the running for six furlongs before he tired and put up an unexpectedly game struggle for second place. Lucian outbroke the others, but dropped back steadily, then loomed up again on the last turn and ipiir badly in the closing drive. Graphite, shufllcd to the rear early, trailed a bad last, but closed a big gap in the last half and is very good. Boloman was prominent for seven furlongs, then quit. Jake Moose is not ready. Wing Ting set the pace for seven furlongs, but finally retired. Spring Ban trailed hopelessly rearward to the stretch and ran a bad race. Legatee tired badly after running forwardly for six furlongs. Marian Casev made the running for the first quarter and held on gamely in the closing drive. Altadice was always outrun bv the first three and the race will improve him. Byron showed early speed.
