Bon Lord was flatfooted at the start, but rapidly overhauled the leaders and won out after a hard stretch drive on the inside in deep going and was much the best. Galmoore forged into the lead on the far turn and succumbed only in the last couple of strides. Billy Myer was a close up and game contender throughout and likes stiff going. No Father, crowded to the rear at the start, closed a big gap in the last half. Jockey Mounce made the running for the first half and quit badly. Great Apache ran prominently for a half mile. Art Critic was shuffled to the rear early. San Oak was short. The winner was entered for ?800: no bid. Triumphant drew out at the start and won all the, way and, although swerving at the end, was best. Nappa, on the inside in deep going in the early running, was always in nearest pursuit of the winner and a game second. Sevorton, from a flatfooted start, closed a big gap in the last half in an extra good effort. Galvestonlan, away badly, loomed up rapidly at the half and held on very gamely. Northwest, after forward pursuit in the deepest going, was crowded back on the far turn and came again with a belated rush. Castile, crowded back and covered with mud, was never dangerous. Edith James, shuttled back on the first turn, closed a big gap, but failed to get up after a rough trip and Is extra good. Standover, well up for six furlongs, failed to stay. Melar, after strenuous pursuit of the pacemakers for six furlongs, quit badly in the stretch. The others were outclassed. The winner was entered for 000; no bid. , . . Follie L., after close and strenuous early pursuit of the winner, quit unexpectedly in the last quarter. Contribution finished well up.
