OFFICIAL STATEMENT OF DENVER MEETING. In a communication received from G. A. Wahl-green. secretary and general manager of the Denver-Overland Jockey Club, he outlines the prospects of the spring and fall meetings which the club will hold this year as follows: "Our meeting will start June 13. Tunning thirty-one days, closing July IS. We will raise all our stakes and overnight purses. Instead of 00 and upward as heretofore, the purses will be 00 and upward; the Derby ,000 instead of . i00, and the other feature races from 00 to ,000. We will have six running races each day. The first two weeks will have one harness race also. Our starter will be Mr. Ed Tribe, who has been doing excellent work for us the past three years. We are increasing the size of our betting riug very materially and also building some 200 new stables. We are spending 00,o00 on our grounds for a fair this fall which will run for one week, beginning September 7. Many of the horsemen cau summer here. We will probably run the fall meeting a week or so beyond the scheduled time of the fair. There will be a number of conventions here during our race meeting, such as the National Democratic Convention, which will undoubtedly increase our average attendance. Open ring will prevail as heretofore. All indications point to a still better meeting that that of last year, which was far ahead of anything of previous seasons."
