Guy Fisher, showing improvement with a good rider up, was a forward contender from the start and. going into the lead on the stretch turn, stood the final drive gamely and outstayed Brougham. The latter was cut off soon after the start and taken wide into the stretch, then finished with a rush. Intervene had no mishaps, showed the most speed to the stretch and tired in the last furlong. Lady Leota ran fairly well. Cloriole was prominent for three furlongs. Transform was practically left at the post and showed speed in tacing into a contending position in the first three furlongs, but quit in the stretch. McAllister, under a perfect ride, was well np in the early running and, when called on. ran into the lead. then stood a hard drive gamely near the end and outstayed Dr. Logan. The latter trailed early and moved up resolutely when taking the last two jumps, but blundered slightly and caused his rider to lose a stirvup, but for which he might have won. Dr. Heard was poorly ridden and ran a good race. Bell-the-Cat forced a steady pace nearly all the way and fenced well. Gold Circle finished gamely. Temaceo ran a good, game race and had no mishaps. Good Luck was in close pursuit of Old Honesty for a mile and tired. Coruscate ran a good race, but was outclassed here. Hasty Agnes Kgan slowly, but moved up steadily under a hustling ride and wore the others down for second place. Colloquy showed her usual great speed, but tired in the stretch. Blagg, away fast, was restrained and failed to respond to urging. Grimaldi, timidly ridden, would probably have won with a good ride, was in a pocket to the stretch turn, where Martin feared going through, and- was easing up all through the stretch to avoid possible interference. Arrow Swift was prominent most of the way and. with a stronger rider, would have been third. Phil Finch had a rough trip. Miss Strome tired after early prominence. Lady Esther ran poorly.
