PERSONAL LIBERTY LEAGUE MOVEMENT The organization of the Personal Liberty League is well under way throughout the state of New York and It threatens to be a hoisting petard ot huge force unless all present signs fail No less than eight or ten strolls clubs have spontaneously grown up in and around New York within the last three or four days and when some encouragement Is given the movement It Is now In sight no one need lie surprised to see a matter of more than 100000 voters organized for use against members of the Hughes school of political fanatics before the nest election It Is likely to be fully as forceful a political club as are the various church leagues which now compel the average politician to do that which is entirely foreign to his natural bent and against his experience and wishes Mr James K Keene Is likely to be president of the new organU zatlon with Stephen Sanford of Neyr Amsterdam as vicepresident Colonel Franklin Bartlett will prob ¬ ably be the leagues general counsel counselP P J Dwyer says he is a strong advocate of this new movement Colonel Bartlett said yesterday that If his services were needed he would be glad to help the league along In various ways A formal announcement will be made In a few days that the league has been started after which dubs will be organized all over the state
