NEW USE FOR BELMONT PARK. New York. November 7. Belmont Park, according to current reports. Is to be devoted in future to automobile Taeing and converted Into a motordrome. The success of the twenty-four-hour races conducted at the Brighton Beach race track by the Motor Racing Association this fall Is said to have opened the eyes of August Belmont and others . interested in the famous race - track to the possibility for revenue still left open to.it. Whether or not horse racing is to be banished entirely from Jlclmont Park has not as yet been decided. It Is argued by supporters of the new plan that lovers" of the sport may become reconciled - to -racing their horses and supporting horse racing at a deficit if this deficit can be overcome by the turning over of the race tracks to automobile racing during the intervals between meetings. The fact that the Belmont Park track is two miles around is cited as offering an Irresistible argument in its favor with automobillsts and promoters of automobiling.
