Firestone, from a slow start, had rough usage on the first turn and was shuffled back in the third quarter, then made up much ground and ran a grand race. -Montgomery, bumped on the lirst turn, was well up to the stretch, then dropped out. Angelus quit after nearest pursuit of the winner for six furlongs. Royal Tourist was nearly thrown on the first turn. Fitz Herbert was badly interfered with on the lirst turn and never dangerous. County Clerk ran in close contention for seven furlongs and tired in the closing strides. Tea Tray II., nearly left, closed an immense gap. Etapa was well up to the stretch. Warden Yell made up ground steadily, as also did Miss May Bowdish. Eckersall helped make the pace for six furlongs. Frank Lubbock closed a big gap. Silver Line showed superior early speed and was palpably short. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. Overweights Eckersall. 4 pounds.
