JOCKEY MORIARITY RULED OFF. Houston, Tex., November 17. After John McBride had won Saturday with Butwell in the saddle. Judge Murphy made a quiet investigation and as a result of it set Moriarlty down for life. Moriarity had the mount on John McBride on his previous start when he was beaten by Wise Hand. Judge Murphy is determined that Texas racing shall be kept clean and that all cases of dishonesty will meet with severe punishment. The following official rulings were handed down by him yesterday: "Hart Dernham. Secretary "I find that the hordes, Cerro Santa, Bosom Friend and Ora Sudduth have been for some time under the care or superintendency of Thomas Hastings, who was ruled off at City Park, New Orleans, for complicity In the Grenade poisoulug case. In my opinion this disqualifies these horses from racing under the. rules of the Texas Thoroughbred Association and that they can be reinstated only by an act of its directors. "Joseph A. Murphy, Judge." "Hart Dernham, Secretary "For fraudulent riding of the horse John McBride, jockey Moriarity is ruled off the turf. "Joseph A. Murphy, Judge."
