LITTLE MEETING AT PETERSBURG. Petersburg, Va.. November 2J. Everything is In readiness for the special race meeting to be given here next Saturday. David Dunlop. of Cog-gins Point, who is the prime promoter of this enterprise, has engaged Riverside track and his harrows are putting it in order. Mr. Dunlop guarantees the seven purses, six for mnners and one for trotters, to be decided and has stable accommodations for from 50 to 100 horses. Some of the campaigners, with which patrons of the eastern turf are familiar, that will take part in the regular events are Wayside. West Over, Rec-tortown. Kankakee. Collateral, Broadway Girl. Jack-wood. Clovercrest. Essex II.. Cousin Kate and Ala-uiansor. Many prominent turfmen from Maryland and Virginia will attend the meeting, among whom the following are well known in racing circles throughout the country: Gwyn Tompkins. James Evans, Arthur Hancock. Dion K. Kerr. Henry T. Oxnard. Colonel Robert Neville. William and Woods Garth. Among the Now Yorkers who have signified their intention of coming down to witness the sport are Senator Christopher Sullivan, M. Lynch. Jay OBrien. Frank Herold. It. Angarola. Frank Gardner and Jack McCMnnis. Frank Herold Will do the starting and will use the flag in the old-fashioned way.
