PRESIDENT WILLIAMS IN MEXICO. San Francisco, Cal.. December 1. President T. H. Williams of the New California Jockey Club, who is traveling through Mexico in the private car Rover, was at Guadalajara a few days ago and was entertained bv Governor Ahuinada of the state of Jalisco, of which Guadalajara is the capital. Guadalajara is one of the places at which Williams and his associates in the recently organized Mexican Jockey Club plan to establish a race track, and the plans for the enterprise were explained to Governor Ahumada in detail. Williams was accompanied from San Francisco bv Mrs. Williams, Miss Muriel Steele and Frank Fenchler of Chihuahua. At El Paso the party was augmented bv the addition of Alberto Terrazas and AVilliani Krall of Chihuahua, both of whom are associated with Williams In liis Mexican racing enterprises. They went on with Williams to the City of Mexico, where the principal meeting of the proposed Mexican circuit is to be held next winter. Williams expects to return to San Francisco December 5. In connection with the movement to establish racing in Mexico on an extensive scale. W. OB. Macdonough. proprietor of Ormondale Stock Farm at Menlo Park, has recently had an inquiry from a wealthy Mexican, who plans to organize a racing stable, for a price on about twenty thoroughbred inures in foal. One of the fixtures that the Mexican Jockey Club will establish is a valuable Derby for Mexican foals of 100!, and the shipment of the mares to Mexico before they drop their foals will render their produce eligible for the stake.
