Won easily; second and third driving. Gerrymander, much the best, waited on Anderson until turning for home, where he easily overhauled the latter M and, shaking him off in the final sixteenth, won as his rider pleased. The latter displayed a hlch turn of speed and was easily best of the others, but had no chance with the winner. Sorrowful was always out- run, but outstayed Louis Streuber in a sharp last eighth drive. The latter ran in improved form and s;owed gamencss under the whip. Bold bolted when the barrier went up. Grande Dame, off well, forced Taunt into early retirement, then held an easy lead until in the final sixteenth, where she began to tire and carry Pal out. but finished gamely under a weak hand ride. Pal ran in persistent pursuit and gradually closed up on the winner in the final eighth, but could not quite get up. Mary F. was always outrun and tired badly in the final eighth. Phalanx, In a sharp last eighth drive, finished gamely. Saracinesca showed but little speed. The" winner was entered for 00; no bid. Scratched 78400 Jack Witt. Vox Iopuli followed Magazine until well straightened for home, then moved up and, shaking him off, came pway with a rush, winning as his rider pleased. Magazine ran an excellent race, showed much speed and responded gamely to the whip, but had no chance with the winner. Lotus Eater gradually fell away after running a good mile and was badly cut off on the far turn. Alma Dufour left the post sluggishly and displayed scant speed. J. C. Mark Antony II. is at his best, ran in behind the leaders until passiug the far turn, where he moved up and saved ground by swinging to the rail when entering the stretch, then, under a powerful hand ride in the final sixteenth, outstayed Dandelion. The latter left the post slowly and went to the outside on the far turn, then moved up fast and appeared to have the winner beaten, but tired palpably under the whip in the last fifty yards. Miss Sain closed up ground gradually all through the final quarter and finished fast. Astronomer fell away fast after turning for home. Sir Edward showed speed, but failed to stay. The winner was bid up from 1908.sh00 to ,000 by H. R. Brandt and bought in. Entre Nous ran in hopeless pursuit of the winner and finished resolutely under the whip. La Gloria bore out suddenly when the barrier went up. bumping Can-ardo off his stride and causing a general mixuo, then got into her full stride when tod late and was always outrun. Duke of Bridgewater made np ground gradually throughout finished gamely and was fast wearing the winner down. Catherine F. suffered from sharp bumnln" on the first turn and, closing a gap. stood a long stretch drive gamely, outstaying Trols Temp. The latter was speedy, but tired in the closing strides. Adelbert Belle and All Alone fell away fast when an eighth out. Talentosa ran away a mile on his way to the post. The winner, entered for 00, was bid up to 00 by E. Hogoboom and bought in.
