C0RRIGAN INSPECTING NEW ORLEANS. New Orleans-, La.. December 10. Edward Corrigan came down here from his Kentucky farm, arriving yesterday noon. He took quarters at the Grunewald Hotel and in an hour had people running to his room. He reminds the talent of the days when he fell out .with the Crescent City Jockey Club and determined to build a track here of his own and fight the Western Jockey Club syndic-ate. which he did when lie built the City Park track. Corrigan lias consulted lawyers since his arrival here and while he is like a sphinx, it is believed he Is trving to form the basis for testing and fighting the Locke anti-racing law in the courts. He has not called upon Samuel F. Hcaslip. president of the City Park Club., nor has he communicated with him. It Is said Corrigan considers Ileaslip a weak brother in throwing up the sponge and declaring it impossible to hold racing in New Orleans this winter. This is the current explanation for the apparent coolness between the two chieftains of City Park and the failure of Corrigan to communicate with him. Despite the fact that he Is consulting lawyers the local impression is that the Locke law is watertight and that any attempt at racing here under the present sentiment would result disastrously.
