EQUINE NECROLOGY LIST OF 1909. Although only three bMbjObj of the current year have passed, the death toll among thoroughbred race horses has been heavy. Since the first of January thirty horses, some of which had already earued fame in the turf world, while others were just lieginning their careers, met death iu one form or another. Sir Dixon, one of the most famous thoroughbred sires in this country, is included among that number. This successful stallion fell and broke his right hip while romping iu the paddock at Colonel I-:.
